Why to hire an interior designer?

Obviously, we believe hiring an interior designer is the way to go, but maybe for different reasons than you think!  Designers have access to products not everyone has access to.  Most spend time every year (sometimes multiple times throughout) going to markets, sitting on furniture, testing fabrics and building relationships with vendors to bring to you the best of the best.  This may sound a lot like shopping, but it’s hard work.  It’s time away from family.  We have to put our best feet forward to ensure we keep healthy relationships with vendors and reps so that when you, the customer, have an issue then they listen and help us fix it.

When you hire a professional you have access to every year of experience they have.  You glean from every mistake made before and every troubleshoot method they’ve tried.  You gain a skilled individual that knows which questions to ask, everything from about how you live in your home to what you are drawn to esthetically.  A good interior designer will read between the lines of your conversation to learn what’s most important to you and creatively integrate it into your plan.  They will save you time and money, which can often be one in the same, and avoid the frustration of common, easily avoidable mistakes.

Interior designers do the heavy lifting of researching products.  Everything from size and scale, materials and fabrics, sustainability and longevity are just a few of the things they are looking for.  Then once products are ordered they track, receive, inspect and install.  You may only see the pretty, made for magazine finish, but countless details happened behind the scenes to pull that off.  And if they made you feel like it was a breeze then they’re the special kind! Ha.

Of course we love to make something dated and old have new life and become beautiful again, but it’s about more than that.  It’s about helping you gain peace and confidence in your home.  We love to help people bring their home to the realization that they hoped for!
